Danielle Hession

Danielle Hession earned a design degree in graphic design at the Ontario College of Art and Design. A Semester at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, and a summer in New York interning at Vogue helped shape Danielleís aesthetic and wish to pursue a creative career.

Danielle works as a full time artist in Toronto. The bulk of her artwork is custom. She transforms peopleís old photos and treasured objects into mixed media art pieces.

Her personal work is inspired by an ever-growing collection of found objects and imagery. There is always an intrigue in the lost story behind each found treasure. There is great satisfaction in recycling discarded items and giving them a new life while still imparting a sense of mystery and nostalgia.

Danielleís artwork can be found at Art Interiors gallery in Toronto and In2art gallery in Oakville. She has partipated in numberous juried and group shows such as the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, Queen West Art Crawl, Riverdale Art Walk, Cabbagetown Art and Craft Show, and group shows at AWOL, Ocad gallery and Sopa Fine Art Gallery in
Kelowna B.C.

Recently, Danielle has donated artwork to the Canadian Friends of the Isreal Museum charity who had a show at Edward Day Gallery, curated by Jamie Angell. She also gave her work to the About Face Collective to auction off in efforts to raise money for their urban ecovillage project. Danielle is a strong believer in the healing powers of art so she is looking forward to making contributions to Creative Works Studio.
